Make Your Own Snowglobe
Snow-globes, like the ones in Clementine's dreams, are a wonderful way to create your own mini winter wonderland. And making your own means you can re-create whatever you want: Christmas scenes, wintery landscapes, favourite spots or events.
Almost any jar will do: olive jars, baby food jars, even coloured vintage ones for something a little different.
You will need a few things, which you can get at a craft store:
- Little plastic or enamel figurines ( metal ones will rust! )
- Some faux (or synthetic) greenery
- Some glue - make sure it dries clear, not white
- A bit of glycerin.
Take your jar lid, and glue your figure on the inside of the lid. Let it dry all the way.
Fill the jar nearly to the top with distilled water, and then you can add a bit of glitter and a touch of glycerin ( this makes the glitter fall more slowly). Screw the lid on tightly - don't knock off your figurine ! - and turn the jar over. And you have your magical snow-globe!
To make it even more special, you can paint your jar lid your favourite colour using enamel paint, or add glitter to your synthetic greenery using glue and glitter.
