Mid-summer Wishes
Mother says this handkerchief dipped in cloves will help to keep the plague away - I am not surprised with its horrid smell! I don't like it but it reminds me of her, I miss her already. I saw many crackling fires on my journey, in celebration of mid-summer. It's believed that if you send wishes out into a fire, they'll come true. I've wished to see Mother again, soon.
